about the whole course
In the third and last day of the training, we learnt about searching many sources by linking where it gives you wider knowledge about the investigation subject you are pursuing.
You are advised not to read each story or information coming to you but instead look for something relevant to your subject.
It was also emphasized not to copy and paste because that will be plagiarizing and can get you into big problem. Instead read understand and right in your own words and don't forget to attribute your story to the origin writer.
Last but not least we learnt also how to post/insert pictures in our stories and how to man the picture to fit the size you desire.
This course has been very valuable to me and I believe to my colleagues as well but time was too short to real grasp each and every new thing we were being taught. I therefore suggest if possible to increase the days to seven.
And for our sake to have another short course of three days to correct where it was not well understood like what was taught this last day.

Kigali City
Kigali city has turned into a modern, clean, free Wi-Fi connected city and friendly tax approach collection the first of its kind in East Africa region.
This has come true following the introduction of Smart Kigali initiative which involved the ministry of youth and ICT, city of Kigali, Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and Rwanda Utilities and regulatory Agency (RURA) to mention a few.
The aim of Smart Kigali initiative is to modernize life while in Kigali city by providing free broadband Wi-Fi internet in major public, business agencies and public bus and taxis in Kigali.
The Initiative will also benefit visitors of Kigali to easily locate their destination and therefore erase the era of asking people of police your destination.

Tuesday january 28th
Tuesday January 26th generally we looked at different ways of searching for facts from the internet which included searching, an example, for president Barack Obama of USA cellphone number.
We also looked at how to write the precise words for what we really need to search for in order to avoid getting a lot of information that is of no use to what we are investigating for.
In order to have a correct or substantive facts we learned also how to search from different sources and for that matter the reliable sources like Wikipedia and going down to the origin post in order to avoid edited stories.
This has helped me a lot in my desire to detect garbage and truth when searching for facts.

about today Monday
We started the training by being given a what will be taught during the training by MrJohansson and followed by a brief introduction from members of the training.
The real training started by being taught how to establish a blog step by step and this was followed by writing and posting a story in our new blogs.
That exercise was followed by understanding clearly what it means when we say investigative journalism with internet and later what is investigative stories. This was accompanied by some example sources from the internet.
We ended by looking casually at what will be taught tomorrow and was disturbed a bit by the behaviour of some members coming late in the class.
