Kigali City





Kigali city has turned into a modern, clean, free Wi-Fi connected city and friendly tax approach collection the first of its kind in East Africa region.

This has come true following the introduction of Smart Kigali initiative which involved the ministry of youth and ICT, city of Kigali, Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and Rwanda Utilities and regulatory Agency (RURA) to mention a few.

The aim of Smart Kigali initiative is to modernize life while in Kigali city by providing free broadband Wi-Fi internet in major public, business agencies and public bus and taxis in Kigali.

The Initiative will also benefit visitors of Kigali to easily locate their destination and therefore erase the era of asking people of police your destination.

Minister for Youth and ICT Jean P. Nsengimana said this initiative will help to deliver better and quick services, while the mayor of Kigali city Ndayisaba Fidele said it is going to improve service delivery and accessibility of information.
